Founded in 1872, the Ontario Society of Artists is Canada’s longest continuing art society. Non-profit OrganizationWe are a Canadian registered charitable organization, administered by a volunteer executive council of artists. Our charitable registration number is 119068401RR0001. Exhibitions and MembershipEach year we present exhibitions of works by members, a juried art exhibition open to all artists working in two and three dimensional media, as well as a juried exhibition specifically for emerging artists. We encourage emerging artists, established artists and artists from diverse backgrounds to apply to our organization for membership. The OSA has 3 'hubs' outside of the Greater Toronto area. These are the Western Hub, the Northern Hub and the Eastern Hub. Each Hub has its own Director who organizes member exhibitions. The Historic Arts and Letters Club of TorontoThe Ontario Society of Artists has a home and meeting place at the historic Arts and Letters Club of Toronto at St. George’s Hall, located at 14 Elm Street in downtown Toronto. The Hall is a building with a lively history of remarkable colour and vivacity and is designated a building of National Historic Significance by the Government of Canada. This is a permanent space for our OSA meetings and events where individual members have the opportunity to meet, interact and enjoy the companionship of other artist members. During Covid-19, we began to offer members the option to attend meeting via the ZOOM platform. The has become invaluable for members located outside the GTA. |
