Reception / End of Show / Take-Down and Pick Up of Work: Saturday, June 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
1. Belvedere Gallery Space
- Your exhibit ( The Ontario Society of Artists – Title TBD ) will be featured in a National Historic Site. During the restoration of the house, this space (originally an attic) was transformed into a lovely gallery setting.
- Your exhibition will be included as part of a regular tour by Castle Kilbride patrons and will be displayed in the Belvedere Gallery (and, depending on the number of submitted pieces, may include the Lower-level Admin Complex Wall Space).
- Artwork will be protected by a closed-circuit security system. The Belvedere is always locked when the Castle is not open to the public.
- Art Gallery quality lighting meets museum standards, adjustable to highlight your work to its fullest.
- Gallery has a picture hanging system
- Belvedere Gallery is climate controlled.
- Please note that this area is only accessible by stairs. Note: upon request, a video of the art exhibition will be provided to any person with accessibility needs.
- The Gallery does not take a commission on exhibition sales.
2. Admin Complex Lower-Level Wall Space
- Space is accessible by stairs or by elevator.
- The area is open to the public.
- Artwork is protected by a closed-circuit security system.
- There are pre-placed nails to utilize.
- Lighting cannot be controlled.
3. Insurance
- In submitting artwork to be exhibited at Castle Kilbride artists agree to do so at their own risk and understand that they alone are responsible for insurance coverage. Castle Kilbride is not responsible for any loss or damage to artwork exhibited on its property.
4. Setting up the Exhibit
- The Artist is solely responsible for the transportation of their artwork.
- Castle Staff will install all artwork. The Belvedere Gallery is equipped with its own hanging system (metal track with chain). This is the only system to be used (no holes are permitted in the walls.) Hooks and chain will be supplied by Castle Kilbride.
- Castle Kilbride reserves the right to move or remove a piece of work if they feel that the artwork’s safety is in jeopardy.
- Castle Kilbride staff will provide all necessary computer-generated labels for the artwork and will mount labels.
- Castle Kilbride staff will provide an accessible video of the OSA Belvedere exhibit to any person requiring an alternative means of experiencing the exhibition.
5. Sales
- All sales will be conducted through the artist and the purchaser directly. A main contact person for sales will be provided to the Belvedere Gallery by OSA.
6. Exhibit Opening Reception
- A date for the opening reception will be mutually agreed to by Castle Kilbride Staff and OSA.
- Invitations and all aspects of organizing an opening reception are the responsibility of OSA .
- Drinks and snacks are permitted for the opening in the Admin Complex Lower Level.
