Qi (circle of energy)

In the Chinese “QI” philosophy, I believe that the world is a circle, and human survival depends on the balance and co-existence of forces of energy from all nations. We live on one mother planet though we inherit different cultures. East meets West as a natural phenomenon since our earth is a circle and a natural strength source. My body of ceramic works emphasizes the contrast between poetic movements and chaotic happenings in nature. I have sculpted a landscape with a combination of raw clays and non-biodegradable particles, combining representations of natural elements such as earth and waves. The form of waves represents the contrast and rejuvenation of energy, including positive and counter forces.
