The call for submissions to the 10th annual juried Figureworks Prize and Award Show is now open.
Figureworks is a celebration of the art of the human form, held in Canada’s capital, Ottawa.
Each year, we come together to celebrate the human figure through the Figureworks Prize. The call is open to all living artists, in Canada and internationally, working in all media who wish to submit recent works that represent the human form or parts thereof. Entry fees go directly to operational costs and prize money. The total prize value in 2018 was $7,000.
Submission Deadline is September 30, 2019.
Artists may submit online through the Figureworks website, www.figureworks.org.
Fee: $35 (US) for one entry, $50 (US) for two. Please note that we do have a reduced submission fee for students.
Location: Saint Brigid’s Center for the Arts, Ottawa, Canada.
The 2019 show will be juried by Michael Davidge, Andrew Morrow and Joanne Stober.

Our mission at Figureworks is to cultivate the creation and exhibition of art of the human form. We do this by providing an excellent opportunity to exhibit artwork of the human form and receive a significant cash prize. We are a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization. Entry fees and sponsorship go directly to operational costs and prize money. We don’t take any commissions on sales at the Figureworks exhibition — all the money goes directly to the artists.
We are proud to acknowledge Wallack’s as the Figureworks 2019 presenting sponsor. Wallack’s has a strong tradition of supporting the arts, supplying professional art supplies through their stores, and representing artists through their gallery.
Figureworks is also sponsored by Wallack Galleries, Rosemary Brushes, Rothwell Gallery, Patrick Gordon Framing, Sivarulrasa Gallery and St. Brigid’s Center for the Arts.
