The inaugural Artist Commons Art Show and Sale is on Thursday, February 21 to Sunday February 24, 2019, at the Withrow Common Art Gallery at Exhibition Place in Toronto.

OSA member and current president, Clare Ross, an accomplished photographer, is one of the participants.

Mitch reporting from Passamaquoddy Bay

Hi folks! This is my first blogging notation. I’m a new member and happy to be included into your organization.

Yesterday, during a persistant downpour there was a moat around my barn studio as I nervously watched the tidal waves slowly rising up to my studio and shaking the old structure to it’s core. I’m about six metres from the water’s edge and this deluge didn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. Even a bedraggled, lone seagull was tapping at my window trying to get in out of the downpour! Now today, it’s sunny and clear, and the building still stands albeit minus a few shingles.That’s the way it goes here in Passamaquoddy Bay. If you don’t like the weather, wait a minute and it’ll change!

Jean Eng, OSA, in the Archives of Ontario’s Newest Exhibit

Jean Eng’s painting “Bonsai Minute” is included in “Animalia” an exhibition of animals in the Archives of Ontario. The show currently runs indefinitely— at least until 2021. The Archives of Ontario’s newest exhibit explores our changing relationships with other animals and how these species have left their mark on Ontario’s history.

Geoffrey Armstrong, OSA Obituary

Geoffrey Armstrong, an OSA Member since 1972, passed away this past summer at the age of 90.
His work is widely collected and is held in many collections including the Art Gallery of Windsor, the City of North Bay, RBC Dominion Securities Ltd., Esso Resources Canada Ltd., Hudson’s Bay Company, Toronto, The National Club, Toronto, Royal Bank of Canada, University of New Brunswick, Art Gallery of St. Thomas-Elgin, Peel Regional Art Gallery, among others.
