OFF THE WALL FUNDRAISING EVENT, PROPELLER GALLERY, TORONTO

Greetings to Propeller Members:

Tickets are now on sale for our OFF THE WALL Fundraiser on December 12that 6:30 pm

We’re happy to tell you that many members and others have supported Propeller. We’ve had an overwhelming donation response (over 100 art pieces) to OFF THE WALL.

We now need your help to sell tickets by promoting the event to your friends, family, and colleagues. As Members, we know how important it is to meet our financial bottom line. If we can each sell 2-3 tickets for the event then we can make a great start to our 2020 programming year.

Don’t forget to tell people how it works. Purchase a ticket for $145 and then take a piece of art OFF THE WALL!  Numbers are drawn throughout the event evening December 12th. It all starts at 6:30 p.m. and goes till the work is gone. And remember, the art is appraised at much higher than the price of a ticket.

So, share it with your friends and family and let’s make OFF THE WALL the best ever this year so we can have a great 2020 at Propeller.

Calling all artists! The Yogen Früz Brain Project is a large-scale, outdoor exhibit that brings brain health, art and imagination to the streets of Toronto. Now in its fifth year, The Yogen Früz Brain Project will bring together a diverse group of artists from around the world who will transform blank brain sculptures into beautiful, energetic and thought-provoking pieces of art. These sculptures will be placed on display in high traffic locations such as Nathan Phillips Square, Union Station, Brookfield Place and the Distillery District. Now is your chance to get involved and submit your concepts for consideration. Visit brainproject.ca for more info.

TRACES: An art exhibition at the Arts and Letters Club. Peter Large, OSA member and Felicity Somerset

TRACES

The ‘TRACES’ exhibition currently on show at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto is an applauded collaboration of fifty drawings and photographs by Club members Felicity Somerset (photography) and Peter Large (drawings) of ‘traces’ left by past generations of settlers in Eastern Ontario.

The exhibition , the result of two artists working separately toward a common idea,  has achieved a rare balance of artistic interpretations and media.

The exhibition continues to November 22, 2019.

Artist’s Dream: House, Art Gallery and Studio

A dream home for an Artist – 15 Newcastle Street in Minden, Ontario!

The “MANSE is a beautifully renovated historic building. Currently it is a business on a main street only metres from downtown Minden operating as a commercial Art Gallery, teaching facility and a working artist’s studio. The studio is a unique room in the building with 10’ ceilings perfect for vertical storage of large canvases. Every artist requires plenty of storage space. There is lots of that accessed from the main floor in the basement, back room and closets.  An upscale ‘pied-à-terre’ apartment is on the second floor making this a perfect “live/work” home.  In harmony with the original architecture board and batten trim, styles have been maintained throughout. Plenty of natural light and new innovative lighting features, light grey plank floors and clean white walls give the rooms an airy feeling. The new closed-in porch gives easy access to relaxing outdoor respite. Renovations include a new propane furnace with monitoring system, air conditioners, 2 separate hydro metering services, plumbing, electrical upgrades, drainage, landscaping, metal roof, etc. Over $250,000 spent in recent years. Imagine the possibilities! Work and live the dream. Keep as a gallery and studio – live upstairs or rent out the apartment. Ideal downtown location offers easy walking access to Farmers Market, Craft brewery, restaurants, river-walk trails, golf course and more. Join the vibrant arts community in the Haliburton Highlands and hundreds of businesses who call Haliburton County and Minden home. This beautiful property is offered for $285,000.
