MOSAIC – Ontario Society of Artists 145th Anniversary Exhibition and Sale enhanced by free demos, workshops and talks
April 25, 2017: The Aurora Cultural Centre is honoured to present MOSAIC: Ontario Society of Artists 145th Anniversary Exhibition and Sale. The exhibition opens on May 11, with an Artists’ Reception and Public Launch on Saturday, May 13 from 1 – 4 pm. This stunning multi-dimensional show will fill all galleries in the Centre with the work of 93 artist members; show continues until August 5, 2017.
Ways of Seeing Artist Educational Programme Grows
As part of their commitment to enhancing the public experience, OSA artists are generously providing a lively roster of Ways of Seeing Art Talks. This public educational series of talks, demonstrations and workshops planned throughout the exhibitions is part of the artist group’s commitment to community engagement in the artistic process. All events are provided free of charge by the OSA; some require pre-registration as space is limited.

The 2016 Re-Encounter expedition in Haida Gwai- which set out in search of an undocumented totem pole- took an unexpected turn when the object of this Quest was ‘ReEncountered’ almost immediately, on the first day of the journey. Short film followed by discussion.

Collage workshop (pre-registration required – maximum 6 participants ), or drop in to watch the demo.
Saturday July 15| 1 -3 pm
Whiteline Watercolour Wood Block Printing Demo & Workshop with Tony Vander Voet,OSA
Learn a technique to produce multicolored water colour prints from a single carved block. ( no charge but pre- registeration and a box of watercolour paints and brushes and xacto craft knife required for each participant )
The exhibition takes place at the Aurora Cultural Centre, 22 Church Street, Aurora. Admission is at no charge.
